split a data field in access

I am trying to spilt a data field into 2 fields from a table. Basically, the
original field has a 7 digit number in it, and I want to separate this 7
digit number into 2 fields. One field containing the first 3 digits, and the
other field containing the last 4 digits.

Version is Access 2003.
