Splash Screen

This just started last week. The Outlook 2007 splash screen stays on the
screen for at least 45 seconds. After 45 seconds it disappears and Outlook
works as it should. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix
this problem?

How many add-ins and how many accounts do you have in Outlook? Do you have AV or firewall set to scan incoming/outgoing mail?

Four add-ins and no on the firewall. I have been using Outlook 2007 with
this computer for at least 4 months and it has worked perfect. This just
started last week.

What about an Anti Virus program that scans for incoming and outgoing emails?

I have AVG as my anti-virus software. The AVG set up has not changed since I
installed Outlook 2007. I notice that the newest MS windows patch will not
install. The the net framework upgrade. WOuld that have anything to do with
it?

Then I would close Outlook, find and rename outcmd.dat to .old and then try opening Outlook again.

I did a file search for OUTCMD.DAT and I don't have a file called that?????

Found the file OUTCMD.DAT renamed like you told me to, rebooted my computer
and the problem is still there. Any other suggestions? The slow screen
drives me nuts. I have Outlook installed on my tablet and it takes less than
a second for the splash screen to go away. As I mentioned this just started
last week.
