Hi,

I am trying to run a Markbook program from a CD and keep getting this error
message:

"SPIN32.OCX" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is
missing or invalid.

How do I fix this?

Thanks!

The installation of that program did not properly register its
components, like the ActiveX control that you mention (SPIN32.OCX).
You sure the program will run properly from a CD and without ever
installing all or part of it on your hard disk? Did you ever run an
install or setup program for that software? Even if the program
"runs" from the CD, usually they require stub code be installed on the
hard disk with the appropriate registry setup to get the rest of the
program to run from the CD's files.

You could try "regsvr32.exe spin32.ocx" (after finding the path to the
file to include it to navigate first to that folder so the file is in
the current folder). If that isn't what is expected by whatever code
is generating the error then contact the support for the software and
ask them how to properly install or use their software.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I think it had something to do with the fact that I
had to reinstall Windows and had to do a lot of updates. Perhaps the file was
missing the second time around. Either way, I ended up downloading the ocr
file from a website, so the program is now working.
