spelling checking stops as i assign a signature

what do i do to have my spelling checked as i type my outgoing mail, it is
stopped as i assign a signature, when i remove the signature it works again,
can't i ve both things together
 
Are you typing in the signature field? add two dashes as the first line of
the signature so you can see where it begins.
