How can I spell check signatures in Outlook 2007

My signature block includes a salutation and signature information beneath
it. Therefore, any text I type between the salutation and the signature is
in the signature block. However, I can't get Outlook to spell check the
signature block. Is there a way to do this?

You might be able to change the spell check setting in the style used for
the signature but I don't recommend doing what you are doing - its much too
easy to lose the entire message you typed if you use multiple accounts or
multiple signatures.

spell checking in tools/options/signatures. Should I be looking elsewhere?
I created a template to automatically type my standard salutation, but I am
still looking for a more seamless approach. Why doesn't Outlook spell-check
the signature block by default?

It's not a signature setting - it’s a style setting. How big is your
standard salutation? I use autocorrect for content under 256 characters -
assign a unique keyword, like #sal, and when you type the keyword its
replaced by the full text.

Second workaround - select the entire message and go to the Spelling
dropdown, choose language. The Do not spell check box will be filled. Clear
it. Now the whole message can be spell checked.

My salutation is less than 256 characters, so assigning a keyword is probably
the best solution. Would you mind sharing with me how I do that? Thanks.

This worked, but I have to do it on a message-specific basis. I was looking
for a global solution. Thanks so much for your time.
