spelling check

Thanks Gary. The Vista Help Desk had to install a new user on my PC in order
to resolve the issue with my Outbox not clearing itself after an email send.
That meant the new user ( me ) has a new install of Windows Mail which
resulted in a revisit to the spell check issue. Everything seems to work ok
now.

I went to "tools, internet options, languages, changed it to (English) US {it
was already there but I re-entered it and hit "add"}, then hit OK and when
back to my email and tried it but it didn't work. I tried it again and again
it didn't work. I followed a web site:
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/68395-windows-mail-spell-check.html and
when around and around so I could access this and got stuck somewhere and now
I am awaiting my new login/password to be sent to me (Right after building a
new one as the one I JUST did didn't work) to be sent to me. And I still
can't use the Spell Check. I agree that if this is such a "known" problem,
we should have a fix easily available to us. I was spoilt with the Microsoft
XP and the ease of Spell Check there.

It sounds like you are messing with the languages setting in the TOTALLY
WRONG PROGRAM!!

You are doing it in Internet Explorer!!

Open Windows Mail program, tools>options>spelling tab>change the spelling
language to another one>apply/ok.

Then change it back to English>apply/ok

Which PW & UN did you mess up?

Are you really using WM or is it a Hotmail or Yahoo type of mail account?

I just did it on windows mail and it worked. I went to
tools-options-spelling. I changed my language from English to French and
clicked apply and ok. Then I went back and changed the language from French
to English and clicked apply and ok, It woked just fine. The tools button is

I have to laugh when I read some of these posts. Why would anyone change the
language on Internet Explorer when they're trying to fix WINDOWS MAIL???Open
your windows mail and go to tools there and it will work.

You'd be surprised how many users don't even know which program
they are in... ;-)
