speller problem

Hi, my MS Word 2003 speller is catching all words (they are correctly spelled
usually) at the end of sentences where the last word is followed by a period
and a quote mark or a period and an endnote number (superscripted).

Like this : immigrants.2 or "immigrants.", only the 2 is a small
superscript. The speller thus catches, thus , many dozens of unnecessary
words. How do I stop it from doing that? Thanks.

About all you can do is tell it to ignore words with numbers, though that
can cause problems, too.
