Spell checking in Outlook Express 6

When I click on spell check in Outlook Express 6, Microsoft Picture it Photo
2002 tries to load with a 1706 error message. This is accompanied with a
bunch of pop up windows that takes about a dozen clicks to get rid of???? I
disabled spell check, but would prefer a better solution.
My up to date "Avast" virus checker doesn't find anything.

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group.

Try microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress

If this isn't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).
