Hi
I am from UK and I never use any French or any other language but English.
My documents are all in English but sometimes when I spell check MSWord will
highlight parts of my documents and check it as French. It is really doing
my head in and I have tried all the proofing settings to solve this. Please
how do I sort this?

Go to Tools | Language | Set Language and clear the check box for "Detect
language automatically." Then click Default... You will probably still have
to make this change in existing documents.

It is always helpful to state the version, especially when it's Word 2007,
which has an entirely different UI. In Word 2007, see Review | Proofing |
Set Language.
