i have widows xp home edition and i can't get spell check
to work. it says i need ms word,exell or power point.do i
have one of these and if i do how do i find it?

if you had one of those, you wouldn't need to ask. Do a Google search
for free spell checkers, there are several.

Aim high Rifleman, many people have MS Word installed, and still can not get spell
check to work.

Nobody can tell you if you have them. You have to find out for
yourself.

If you're asking whether Windows comes with them, the answer is
no. You have them only if your vendor bundled them with your
computer or if you installed them yourself.

However, lacking one of these, there are several
freeware/shareware spell-checkers you can use instead. I have no
experience with any of them, so I'll let someone else recommend
one.

Um the OP asked "Have I got components of the Office suite" - what I
said was, if they had it then they wouldn't have to ask whether they had
it. Read my post and the OP's post again.
There was nothing in the post about "I've got Office but the spell check
still doesn't work". I think you'll find I scored a bullseye.
