spell check problems in Access 2007 RTF memo fields

After formatting text in a memo field, the spell checker on the Home Ribbon
suggests the error and correction but highlights the wrong area in the field
to replace. Hence the correction is worse than the original mistake. If you
manually select the error, everthing works properly. It also works correctly
if the error is prior to the formatting.

Don, you are right. This is a really nasty bug, as it destroys characters in
the data.

I notified Microsoft of this bug some time back, and you can be sure they
will fix something like this as soon as Service Pack 1 comes out. It's the
number one bug in our list here:

In the meantime, it is not safe to use the spell checker on rich text
fields.

it IS safe to use; but Microsoft won't fix bugs and Microsoft is
responsible for data loss
