Spell check 2007 not working

Dear List, 2007 Word on a particular document, spell checker has stopped. I
went to the options\proofing and made sure it was on and that no nonenglish
box was checked. I can copy the document and insert in a new window and
spell words. But I can't use this because my word style is dropped.

Is it possible I set the document in some manner and can't get spell to work
again?

Do you see the language used in the status bar? If yes, click the language and
you should get a dialog box. Is this where you checked for the English language?

And before you checked, did you select a word that is incorrectly spelled?

What about the checkbox "Do not check spelling or grammar"? Is that checked?

Did you ever use the option to "Ignore" words when running spell check on this
document?
