Speed of slide show

I am using Windows XP Pro. How do I adjust the speed of
the Windows slide show (Windows Slide Show & Fax
Viewer). When I click on a folder of photos and
select "Picture Tasks", then "View as a slide show", the
photos flip thru too fast. How do I slow the internal
speed of this function down or even pause it if I want
too?

=======================================
You have a small control panel...

The blue button with the two vertical
lines will pause the slide show.

While the slide show is paused you
can advance/reverse the image display
with your arrow keys.

If you still wish to change the speed of
the slideshow...you will have to edit your
registry.

I would suggest that you carefully read the
following article first before proceeding:

====================================

There's a script you can download from the
following site that will increase the timeout
to 10 seconds...scroll down to #81.

Also, the following info was previously posted
by David Shiflet:

===========================================

The value of the number is represented in milliseconds
between image changes:
1000 = 1 second, 5000 = 5 seconds, 10000=10 seconds,
etc. To modify my script change the time accordingly.

In order to change the slideshow timing, open regedit
and go to the following key.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellImageView]

Create a DWORD named "Timeout", with the value the
number of millseconds between image changes (1000
(Dec) = 1 second, 5000 = 5 seconds)

Note that the time of actually changing the image is not
included, so 1000 =1 second + time to decode the image

===========================================

If you open the script from Kelly's site in notepad, you
should be able to use David's instructions to change
the timeout to anything you require.

Good luck....

Press the space bar and the photo will remain on your screen until you press
the right arrow key to bring the next slide. Press the space bar again to
bring back the default speed.

Hi John,

Gladly.

After starting TweakUI for Windows XP, expand the Explorer portion of the
Treeview on the left side. Select the Slideshow item. You will see the
Time per picture setting on the right side. 5000 milliseconds is the
default you can set it to a higher value for longer intervals between
transitions or lower for shorter intervals.

Hope this helps.

I was running an earlier version of TweakUI that did
not have that option. I just downloaded and installed
ver 2.10.00 and taa! daa!

Thanks
