Speech recognition - dictation in Word 2007

I am running Word 2007 Student and Teacher edition on Vista Home Premium. I
know how to set speech recognition on from Vista and this works fine for
program/keyboard control purposes.

However when I try to dictate in Word there is no response - all it can do
is to repeatedly ask me what I said?

Has anyone come across this specific point in this or a similar configuration?
 
Hi Chris,

Assuming that your default language choice and locale in Windows and Office 2007 match, you may want to check with the folks in the
Desktop Speech discussion group through the link below.

The Windows folks 'took back' the speech functionallity from the Office team for Office 2007.
