Looks great to me. I see no problems here. It's going to be an expensive
rig, but there's nothing wrong with that. :) -Dave

I could get everything for about $1600 from Newegg. I could save about
$100 if I got some less expensive memory from Kingston, but I'm not
sure that's a good idea. Since I'm not a gamer, I guess I could also
choose a less costly video card...

No, that video card is great. I wouldn't change a thing. -Dave

I also think the 6600 card will be fine, and for $100 you won't b
doing yourself any favors by going cheaper
I'm wondering about the memory, though. There are plenty of people o
this forum who know more than I do about this and could give you al
sorts of technical specs and the pluses and minuses of differen
timings, but unless you're going to be doing some seriou
overclocking, I think $350 for 2 gigs of RAM is too much.
You could save yourself $150 by getting some Corsair XMS which i
still good brand-name RAM. I've also read elsewhere that th
performance jump you get by going beyond Value labeled RAM i
negligible in real-world applications
Perhaps someone else could offer more detailed advice on this

If you're planning on playing new games get a better video card. I'd suggest
at least a 6800 (not le).Saw it listed for $135.Nice price.

You wouldn't be wimping out, you're just being prudent, which is goo
if you've never done this before and you're buying $1500+ worth o
gear

It's actually not that complicated, but buying the mb/cpu bundl
should go a long way towards getting your feet wet and saving yo
some time. Installing the bundle in the case would be very easy, jus
make sure you have the brass standoffs arranged correctly for you
motherboard to start with
