Special Characters - Division Symbol

I'm a dad trying to help junior with his homework. I am
trying to find out how to make the 'division symbol'.
This would be the horizontal line with a dot above and
below it. HELP!!!

You go into Microsoft Word toolbar at the top and go to
Insert, Symbol and go under the Font "Symbol" and it's
there...

Division Sign in MS Word

In MS Word 2003 you can hold Alt while typing 0247 on the number keypad. When you let go of the Alt button the division sign should be there.
