Speakers not working since XP

Hey folks - can anyone help me? I downloaded the updated
drivers for Sound Blaster (for a 4-year old computer) but
since I "upgraded" to Windows XP, and I use the term
very loosely, I haven't heard a squak out of my
speakers. I've done all the regular stuff that Microsoft
and Sound Blaster recommends, so, does anyone have any
ideas? Thanks.

As a starter; insert your XP CD, when it comes up click
check compatibility.

OK, you "downloaded" the updated (I assume their XP?) drivers. Um,
did you install them?
