Speaker setup

I bought an SB Live 24 Sound card for my 5.1 speaker system. I tested the
speakers using Creative's speaker test and all of the speakers work.
However, none of my programs (such as RealPlayer) are utilizing all of the
speakers. I checked the XP sound scheme and it is set to 5.1. What am I
doing wrong? Thank you.

Check with SB help, online documentation or forums for information on the
proper configuration. There is much to it ;-)

You will get 5.1 audio from you speakers if:

the audio source is 5.1
your sound card has a emulation feature to simulate 5.1 from non-5.1
audio source such as 2 channel stereo.

Do not know about the SB card {check manual for features}. Most 5.1/7.1
audio/visual receivers have the ability to emulate from a 2 stereo source
such as a FM station.
