When I log into our server from home to check email my inbox is full of spam
making it nearly impossible to check email from home (200+ spam emails
daily). When I download messages at work, these same spam messages are sent
to my junk box so I don't have to sort through them. How can I see my inbox
remotely without all the spam?

Have you asked your IT dept?

The crystal ball says you're using Outlook Web Access when remote. OWA
doesn't employ the same junk e-mail filter Outlook does.

If you're not using OWA, please be more specific in describing your remote
setup.

I am logging in through: Accessories, Communications, Remote Desktop
Connection on my home computer. Is that OWA? If so, is there any way to have
a spam filter work on this?

No, that's Remote Desktop Connection (Microsoft Terminal Services).

to have a spam filter work on this?

Since you're running Outlook not on your home system, but on whatever system
you specify in the connection, it will work however you have it configured
to work on that remote system. What version of Outlook is on that remote
system? What account type are you using? Do you have the Junk E-mail
filter enabled? If so, what level have you chosen?

I'm running XP at home so I'll check the filter there. However, a colleague
takes his laptop from work to home and the filtering doesn't work when he
logs in from home. Any ideas?

Describe what "logs in from home" means. How does he make the connection?
Is he using an Exchange account with RPC over HTTP or a VPN? Is he usning
POP/SMTP? IMAP/SMTP? What version of Outlook does he use?
