Is there no way to block some of the spam that seem to be getting into these
newsgroups?

It seems to be getting increasingly worse. More and more garbage which
makes it harder to see the real questions. Are there any solutions.

Is there a reason why microsoft does have any moderators reviewing these
forums?

I have noticed that messages are sometimes removed from the server, but too
often it either does not happen (allowing abusive postings to remain
indefinitely), or it takes too long to happen. I agree that something like
the junk e-mail filters my ISP uses could be put to good use.
