Spacing w/in words

There have been a number of questions regarding my issue, which is how can
one correct large spaces within words? I have an updated printer driver,
everyone in the office has the same result with this document, I went to
Tools>Options>Compatibility and checked "Do justification like WordPerfect
6.0x." It doesn't matter if the document is full-justify - large spaces occur
within words even when left aligned. The font is CG Omega, 10 pt. Can anyone
help? Thanks.

G'Day Ann,

Open the document and Select some text where this is evident.

Have a look at:
Format|Font
Character Spacing (tab)
Scale: 100%
Spacing: Normal
Position: Normal

The question is "How does the doc *print*?

Does the problem go away if you change the font to a comparable TrueType or
OpenType font? Or maybe if you switch to 800 X 600 resolution?

CG Omega is an Agfa Compugraphics printer font supplied with certain HP
printers (LaserJet IIIs & 4s). The key phrase here is *printer font* - it
uses PCL-related Intellifont technology to generate the *screen* version,
and how that turns out can be iffy due to a number of variables - such as
resolution, Zoom, etc. - especially since your systems are probably somewhat
newer than the printer & its fonts.

You may be able to get more helpful info/updates from HP.

Bob,

My apologies...I should have noted that the text appears quite normal on the
screen, but it prints with the large spaces within some words. This has
occurred only in a section of the document that was not originally part of
the specification; it was emailed as an attachment and required extensive
reformatting. Unfortunately, I do not dictate the font to be used. I'll
contact HP as you suggested. Thanks.
