Spaces at end or begining of sentence

S

Sandy

I've written a letter and then decided I wanted to break it into paragraphs.
I went to the sentence I wanted to indent and hit the spacebar and nothing
happened. I hit the tab and the whole document moved. I then went the the
end of the sentence and hit the spacebar and the cursor kept going until I
couldn't see it anymore yet the column indicator at the bottom said it was
moving over and over. I put the cursor at the begining of a sentence and
moved it in one letter and the spacebar worked.

I'm confused!

Why doesn't the spacebar work at the begining or end of a sentence? It's
Word 2002

Thanks

Spaces at the end of a line do not wrap to the next line. To break a
paragraph into several paragraphs, you must press Enter where you want to
break the text. Then you can use spaces to indent, though this is not
advisable. Nor is a tab really the best approach. Instead, use a first-line
indent (which you can create by dragging the First-Line Indent marker on the
ruler).
