space bar to clear a cell we get #value!

when we use the space bar to clear a cell we get a #value! error in the other
cell that carries the formula. This just started happening. If we use the
backspace key it works fine.

cell that carries the formula. This just started happening. If we use the
backspace key it works fine.

Excel cannot do math with cells that contain text and hitting the spacebar
effectively enters text into a cell. This has always been the case. Hit the del
key to clear a cell.
