SP4 and 8150 PS driver

S

Sam MacDonald

After updateing computers to SP4 we receive an error.
"The application or DLL C:\WINNT\system32
\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\HPB81507.PPD is not a valid Windows
Image. Please check this against your installation
diskette"
When I checked the folder I found all the files, not just
the HPB81507.PPD file, dated 6/3/1980 1:00AM

I looked in the registry and found HP LaserJet 8150 PS as
the print driver with the issue.

Any one have a quick fix, we have many machines with this
issue. I can send the information in the form of a word
document if you like.

Sam.

The drivers that the print spooler utilizes reside in
C:\WINNT\system32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\* or
C:\WINNT\system32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\2\*

there are some legacy dos applications that look in the
C:\WINNT\system32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86 directory for driver files.

What's the application? Can you copy the HPB81507.PPD file from
C:\WINNT\system32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\ to
C:\WINNT\system32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86?
