SP3 Application Error

I have been trying to install SP3 on my Windows XP PC. Each time I try I get
the following error:-

drwtsn32.exe - Application error. The instruction at "0x5780e1c0" referenced
memory at "0xddc20074". The memory could not be read.

The only way to get out of the problem is to manually turn the machine off
and restart.
