SP2 Update folder

Is there any reason that I should have any SP2 Update folder on my C drive.
There are 3 folders in the root directory with the following names:
48e19ab
4322aeea2a37dc90cdb270f2
b5d3d1881
Each of these in turn have a folder named SP2 and under SP2 there is a
folder named Update which contains Update (Windows Service Pack Setup).
I am assuming these were left over from incomplete update of my Windows XP
to SP2.
But before deleting I just want to be sure since lately I have had XP boot
prblems.
TIA for prompt response.
Exhausted!

If it is installed correctly and you have rebooted the PC subsequent to the intial reboot of
the SP2 installation, delete those folders.
