Has anyone who has removed SP2 had problems with programs installed not
running after the service pack uninstall?

I get the warning that "these programs may not run properly", and of course,
it's every program on the computer.

Reason for the uninstall is problems with IE6 and Outlook Express (receiving
multiple deliveries of the same emails [50+] and frequent disconnects from
the server. I have tried different anti-virus programs (Norton and AVG 7)
and different option settings as recommended by my ISP. I routinely run
virus scans, clean-up and defrag programs. The system is an AMD64 (754 pin
3200+) homebuilt behind a linksys 8 port router networked with 3 other
computers and a printer. No problems with the other computers.

I switched to Firefox web browser with considerable improvement - want to
remove SP2 if the consequence is not disabling pre-existing programs.

Turn off E-mail scanning. You do not need it.

I just installed AVG Free7 two days ago. I didn't even install the E-mail
Scanner.

Thanks- I have already turned of Email scanning, and although it solves the
problem of the AVG pop up box stating "connected (or connecting) to (email
address)", I'm still getting multiple emails.
