Hi gang!

Installed SP2 tonight - the only problem I'm experiencing is when I hit
start and the "My Computer" button. The window opens and then i get the
little flashlight for about 10 minutes before it lists my drives and printer.

I'm using Windows XP Home Edition - did not have this problem prior to
installing SP2. Also tried opening Windows Explorer with the same result.

I'm using Norton Internet Security 2004 and disabled the SP2 Firewall.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance!

Lou

This is a problem I have experienced with both SP1 & SP2. However, it might
be a virus or spyware. Upon a clean install of the OS with updates, something
that tends to help is disconnecting network drives if not in use, and by
cleaning any additional drives & partitions. Also, if you have additional
physical drives or partitions, and are using them only for files, not
installations of software, disable the system restore on these drives.

Try running the regedit at this site, line 157 left hand side:

Well, I solved the problem simply by updating my printer driver. Go figure.

Thanks for all the help gang!
