Hello Everyone,

I built a computer for a friend of mine, and she wanted XP pro installed.
After she had the computer for a while she wanted me to install SP2 for her
as well. so i installed it for her from a CD and ever since after the
update, her computer likes to lock up and pop up with the" send an error
report to microsoft " screen,. after waiting for that for about 10 minits it
finally desides to close the program and acts fine again, till something
elese causes the screen to pop up again.

so far therse are the programs that have caused an issue

- IE v6
- Dr. Watson (While IE is being shut down)
- Task Manager
- Explorer

Seems everytime you look at the file menus in IE or try to find a file using
my computer... the system locks up and waits to close the prgrams. Is there
anythign i can do to stop this. so far i have not found anything about it yet.

System Specs:
-AMD XP Athlon +3000
-Gigabyte Vt600 1394 mobo 400 FSB
-512 MB DDR
-80 Gig HD IDE Western Digital

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Have you opened windows update since.Either way,go to run, type:cmd
In cmd type:Sfc /Scannow When the graph starts, install xp cd,exit the
info page,when its thru,type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,then type:EXIT
Restart computer, remove xp cd.When xp reopens defrag C: and run disk
cleanup (1st).

happening, dfraged just fine. but i will do the SFC and CHKDSK and see what
that does, Thanks for you help!!
