SP2 - keyboard - WinXP freezing

after installing SP2: when i logon, click (yes, mouse is working until this
point) on a account and try to type password WinXP freezes; no mouse, no
keyboard, no blue screen, no error message, just "dead".
i seems to be a problem with keyboard (that is a generic one).

any ideas?

PS.: sometimes works fine.

If possible try using the keyboard on another PC to find out if it's at fault.

thanks eric.

there is no problem with the keyboard, i tested it.
i removed sp2 and all work.
i reinstaled sp2 and (sometimes) when i try to use keyboard winXP locks.

in my opinion: there is a problem when winXP loads keyboard drivers.
