Well, I've read many articles via google search, but I'm going to admit
defeat, unless someone has a better idea. The computer won't display
anything except the CAD screen and TaskManager (where I can run some apps
from File/Run), but it always give the shlwapi.dll error). I've tried
three ways to uninstall SP2 from it, but all three ways fail, including
the batch spuninst.txt method...

Out of hundreds of XP Prof SP2 machines this is only the second I've had
fail - the other was an out-of-date BIOS.

Do a repair install with RTM or SP1 media.

But of course he plonked me and won't see this! ROFL!

Yeah, that might work, Kurt. Too bad the idiot can't see your reply!

Yea, but I can see that he replied in your reply, but my guess is that
nothing he could post would help anyone and since I've got years of repair
experience over him and probably more than 10 times the systems I would
have to guess that it was some lame, short, meaningless response that
would have been posted by any lamer.

Since the problem has been posted by many people and there are multi-page
detailed instructions on common methods to resolve it, I bet he just
posted a one-liner method, like his other skills have shown.

I could go back and read his post, since it does download them, but it's
just not worth any more time on him to see more lame replies from him.

Nothing like stating the obvious!

Wow, you must be a tech genius, yet can't figure out a simple way to
get rid of SP2! ROFL!

Yep, it was a one liner, yet one I bet you didn't think of.

Not using a very good method of Blocking his posts!
