SP2 install problem on XP home

Hello,

I downloaded the SP2 file and attempted to install it. The unpacking of the
file when fine and the beginning of the install seemed to go fine. The
process seemed to hang when it started to evaluate hardware and check for
drivers. My sytem stayed at that point for approx 2 1/2 hours last night.
I eventually just cancelled the install. Is this normal, if so how long
should it take? If not, what can i do to fix the problem.

I just took a look at the document and I should be fine. My computer meets
the minimum requirements, and everything else matches up.
