I have a client who installed SP2 from windows update as a matter of
habit installing updates. After the installation, the taskbar is no
longer on the screen. Also IE reports "Page cannot be found" when browsing.

Now I know the firewall is on by default with SP2, but has anyone else
seen the issues with the taskbar disappearing after install?

It is definately SP2 casuing this. Uninstall puts everything back to
normal. So far I have updated 13 XP Home machines and only 1 went
without a hitch, all the others showed problems after applying SP2

My opinion is that this is the worst service pack ever released by
Microsoft. Lots of end user problems ... perhaps more than it is worth.
I am recommending NOT installing tis SP to my clients and if possible,
I am talking tham into Win2K.
