SP2 Firewall Issue

Hello all,

I recently installed SP2 without any major issues. In the Windows Firewall
config, I enabled File and Print Sharing. I am able to access shares on my
computer from other computers on my home network.

I have a VPN tunnel setup from my office network to my home network. The
problem is, I am unable to access shares on my computer from my office
network. If I disable the Windows Firewall, I can access shares on my
computer from my office network.

I looked at the Windows Firewall log file, and indeed it is dropping the
traffic. I am guessing this is happening because the traffic is coming from
a subnet different than my home lan.

Is there a way to configure Windows Firewall not to block traffic from other
subnets?

Thanks,
Scallica

I found the solution. By default, Win XP only allows traffic from the local
subnet. You can change this by clicking the Properties button, then the
Scope button on the firewall configuration panel.
