sp2 download broadband

I downloaded SP2 over broadband didnt take too long
system said completed but on reboot cannot access windows-
keeps shutting down,even safe mode can't deploy. Has
anyone else had this problem?
 
Jane,

When you say shuts down, how far into the boot process does Windows XP
actually get before the "shutdown"?
