SP2 ,,, Control Panel and Even Adjust The Clock

I just installed SP2 .. When I have a few NET
applications going, and try to like, look at a calander
by right clicking on the clock in lower task bar, nothing
happens and I cannot go back and look at anything ..
Happens on control panel also but seems to start with the
clock thing . I have to reboot ... FYI I have running
XP, Norton, ADsubtract, SPYsubtract and CheckiT86...

This is ridiculous. An operating system is what enables you to run
*programs*. What are you saying, that no one should run any programs
but just sit there looking at the operating system's gui?

That said, it does sound like the OP has too many programs and probably
processes running in the background, SP2 or not. Some of those programs
may even conflict with each other. Start with a clean boot and, except
for your antivirus and firewall (which you must keep running), try
adding one program at a time and see how the computer responds. You
also didn't say how much RAM you have; make sure you have at least
256MB - 512MB is better if you normally like to run a lot of programs.

Suggestions:

Try running the DirectX Tool: Start/Run/Dxdiag, Lower Hardware Acceleration
(Display/Settings/Advanced/Troubleshoot/Hardware Acceleration). Check
System Info for problematic issues: Start/Run/Msinfo32/Hardware Resources
and Components/Problem Devices and Software Environment/Windows Error
Reporting.
