Sp2 continuing problems

My question is a valid one whether anybody has this particular problem or not
....

1/...Will Microsoft release fixes for sp2 compatibility issues that are to
this day still messing up computers...

2/ How can one relay to Microsoft about these issues ???..Without having to
pay a fortune in support fees...

I have tried downloading and installing sp2 twice..Once when it was first
released and once again last week...I have had to remove it both times due to
my router losing its ability to connect after a few hrs of having sp2 amongst
other issues...I have always been a believer in Microsoft's products and have
always kept my computers up to date with patches and updates but sp2 has
continually wreaked havoc with my computers...I know I may not necessarily
need sp2 due to the fact that I at least once a week try and locate my
computer by either pinging or using port scans and it cannot be found and I
keep my firewalls (3) up to date as well as my antivirus ,,spysweeper and
other programs as well untill maybe Microsoft hopefully fixes sp2..

I can't speak specifically to all your problems, but as for
" I keep my firewalls (3) up to date", you should never run
more than one firewall. Problems will occur.

Bruce : I understand what you are saying and should have explained that what
I am running is a hardware firewall (router) Norton Security (software
firewall) and windows firewall..There have never been any conflicts with
these and from what I have read in the past all mvps have suggested running
both a hardware and software firewall........Thanks for your
response................Drew

SP2 compatibility issues with software\hardware are going to be fixed by
the software\hardware vendor. Unless there is a "bug" in the operating
system with SP2, it isn't going to be "fixed" by Microsoft. If your
setup is the only one exhibiting the problem then the issue correction
may just lie in a software update.
