SP2 backup function...

Is there a way to tell SP2 not to back up and be uninstallable, much the same
as with SP1? I do not plan on uninstalling it, and I do not want unnecessary
backup files taking up valuable disk space. I have seen a "dodgy" method of
cleanup (delete the temp files then try to uninstall it - it will say error,
then it removes the uninstall entry for you) but I don't want to do it this
way.

Microsoft removed that option partially because some needed it but
unchecked it anyways.
Microsoft probably feels it is a good option until you are sure all is
OK with the Service Pack.

That "dodgy" method is essentially what you need to do.
There are also tools that do it automatically but the net result is
the same, automatic being the only difference.
You either use a "dodgy" method or keep the uninstall files.

Thanks for the info - I think I will just keep them there for now anyway in
case I find more incompatibilities (I had to do a workaroud to get Divx
working).
