Hi All,
I have Windows XP (home) running Norton AV 2004 and SP2. The problem is
I cant get rid of the Windows security alert saying that my AV is
installed but not recognised, or something like that. Has anyone got a
solution to this problem.Thanks

This is an obvious question, I realize, but are you sure NAV 2004 is
completely updated? SP2 Security Center should work with NAV 2004. If
running LiveUpdate doesn't fix the problem, I would go to Symantec's web
site, click Support, click "access free online support", click "automated
support assistant," install the 2 ActiveX controls you will be prompted
about, and let it scan your system for any updated files.

Open Norton Anti-Virus 2004 and run Live Update. There is a Norton WMI
update that fixes the communication problem with Windows Security Center.

I am using NAV2004 with SP2 now.
And they are working fine.
No problem.............
What about NAV 2002 (part of SystemWorks 2002). Live Update has
presumably been updating/patching it for the last couple of years? So
should I not expect it to run under SP2? The Symantec FAQ says
"Norton AntiVirus
Installing Service Pack 2 will not affect Norton AntiVirus. The
Windows Security Center will be aware that you have Norton AntiVirus
installed, but it will not be able to determine its working status due
to Symantec's tamper-protection technology."

The Norton WMI update for 2004 products, previously available through
LiveUpdate, has been removed for maintenance purposes. An updated Norton WMI
is projected to be available in late September/early October through
LiveUpdate for these products:
