Hi Bonnie,

As long as you have any other firewall turned on and setup, you dont need to
turn on the windows firewall

all the best...jp500

Sorry i forgot to add that windows firewall comes turned on by default and
you will need to turn it off

You only need one firewall in action - indeed the latest version of
Zone Alarm disables the Windows one. I would use ZA, get rid of Norton
and use one of the other AV systems that are cheaper to maintain

The latest ZA Pro release disables the Windows FW, and that will show as such (though some reported it doesn't) in the SP2 Security Center. Personally I would totally get away from anything Norton's, especially their System Works or their AV, as it wants to control what Windows can do fine on its own. Get a good free AV (i.e. AVG from www.grisoft.com), or TrendMicro (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/) and Panda (http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm) online scanners which are free, and are pretty good. Also, don't use System Mechanic, as that is along the same thing as System Works, and wants to run your PC. Why have both anyway that are essentially doing the same things, and simply cost money, and uses up your PCs resources. Save yourself money and PC system resources, and don't use them anymore.
