I have not found any issues with any other site other than ebay. The site is
scrambled when I go to it and I get some source code on the screen and some
text about 'javascript'.
e='';return encodeUrl('http://search.ebay.com', this, '000', null);"
action="http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll">
This is also what I get on broken sites.
What I have done so far is to follow the suggestions that I have found here
on the site but without any success. I have added ebay as a trusted site in
addition to 'manutd.com' after loading in a new environment. Still nothing.
I have enabled script access for IE as well and have nothing to show for
it-yet.
What's the problem?
I have Mcafee Security Center and all was well until this SP2 crap.
What I have is XP Pro.

Any improvement if you disable McAfee Security Center? Have you sought
programme updates for McAfee Security Center since installing SP2?

In Internet Explorer, select Tools/Internet Options/Security Tab. Click the
Trusted Sites icon. Click the Add Button. In the top line, enter
http://www.ebay.com and click the Add Button. Make the option at the bottom
of the dialog box is not checked. Test to see if this fixes the problem.

Nobody's perfect, SP2 has issues with various
applications, you may need to go to SunJava products and
download and install java applet again.

Also you may have some spyware issues, go to Majorgeeks,
left side column, spyware tools, get either spybot search
and destroy or Adaware SE. make sure after you install
them you first update them.

Did everything that was listed here for your suggestions. Already use the
S&D spyware program.
As for ebay, SP2, and the Ver.8 of this Mcafee, mine set up must be the
exception to the rule!
Again, I had already done what those of you have suggested so far and have
gotten nothing for my efforts. Starting my 5th hour trying to work this out
and feeling like it is something simple and I am just not seeing it.

<scratches head> Does that mean disabling McAfee Security Center helps?

You see dozens of postings a day here claiming that SP2 is Perfect!

Several MVP have gone so far as to claim that there are ZERO bugs
in five million lines of code!! (which is the first time since the
computer was invented that this has ever been accomplished!)

Some people believe that McAfee causes problems.. I was just confirming
that, in this case, it doesn't.. thanks..

In SP2 Microsoft have taken steps to block active content in the
'Internet Zone' by default, so as to protect against sites where
scumware comes piggy back without your knowledge. It is possible in
Internet Options - Security to take the Internet Zone, click Custom
Level and relax these limits. But I would instead take the Trusted
Zone, click the Sites button and add http://*.eBay.com (and anything
else you feel you *need* to trust) to that zone. Uncheck the box about
secure sites only
