SP1 uninstall

I downloaded Vista SP1 and then tried to download Defender but my computer
wouldn't pass the validation test. It had until then! I uninstalled SP1
and then tried but it still wouldn't allow me to download. My copy of Vista
premium is legal and was on my computer when purchased it in August 2007.
What now?

Try a system restore point prior to SP1 if you have one available.
 
It was purchased in august 2007.
If it was not activated, and checked out, it would not still be going!!!
