Six months ago, my mother downloaded SP2 and her XP computer shut down and
took two days to remove SP 2 and restore her computer. So I've been
reluctant to download it on mine. Have all the problems been resolved?

Zack

Zack;
SP-2 is the same today as when released as it will be next year.
Was her computer free of viruses, spyware and other malware?
Were all problems, known and unknown, resolved before attempting to install
SP-2?

Follow the Service Pack Installation Checklist to help prevent problems
related to installation of SP-2:

Robert, SP2 is fine it's when it has to install to a million different
computer configurations is the problem. Before you install it
you have to be free and clear of any spyware, trojans, adware and virus.
You can use these sites. Spyware Sweeper is free
for 30day trial. The rest are just free.
