How do I remove a link to a source file that is no longer
valid.

My file, when opened, asks "The workbook you opened
contains automatic links to information in another
workbook. Do you want to update this workbook with
changes made to the other workbook?...yes, no."

My file should not contain any links, but for some reason
asks this question.

How can I remove this link or delete the source file?

Links are a pain. You think you've removed them all but there could be one
or two lurking about. I use John Walkenbach's Power Utility Pak to hunt
them down. http://j-walk.com/ss/pup/pup5/index.htm . I got a free version
of the PUP on a CD-ROM included in one of my Excel books authored by John.
I believe there is a free trial version on his web-site. However, the
program is worth the $40 price if you do a lot of Excel work.
