Sounds in PowerPoint

When I add a sound clip to a PowerPoint presentation, I
can tell PowerPoint to stop playing the sound after a
certain number of slides. If the sound is too short I can
tell PowerPoint to have the sound loop. Does PowerPoint
have the ability to fade out a song clip if it is longer
than the number of slides, so it does not stop abruptly
when the slide ends

Unfortunately, no, it doesn't. PPT pretty much plays the sound "as is."

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the level of audio playback control that you are
looking for for inserted sounds.

However, if you have PowerPoint 97, a very cool option in PowerPoint 97 is
the Custom Soundtrack add-in. The PowerPoint Custom Soundtrack Add-in
allows you to add electronically-generated background music to your slide
shows and one of it's features is to have the music it generates end
gracefully (not quite the same as fade out, but still avoiding the
abruptness with which inserted sounds end). You can install this add-in
from the following folder on the Office 97 compact disc:

<drive>:\ValuPack\MusicTrk

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions as to how
PowerPoint improve it's options for controlling the playback of audio (such
as fade in/out), don't forget to send your feedback to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also why it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
