Sounds in Outlook 2003

Hi,
I have OUtlook 2003 on a Win XP SP2 computer and cannot hear the sounds that
are embedded in such items as Stationery or Background sounds if they have
been inserted into an e-mail by someone using Outlook Express.

How can I get these sounds to PLAY and is there a way to EMBED background
sounds into an outgoing Outlook 2003 e-mail

A midi sound? Do other midi sounds play on your computer correctly?
