Is it possible to extract the sound from pps-files (slideshow)?

Save the PPT file as a Web page (.html). This will create a folder with a
bunch of files including the sound files. Of course, first you have to open
the file in Normal View. So, rather than double-clicking the .pps, open
PowerPoint first (assuming you have it) and then choose Open from the File
menu to open the .pps.
