I just upgraded from windows 98 to 2000. Can someone tell
me why I don't have any sound now. Do I need an upgrade
for this? Help!!!

Make sure the sound driver got installed correctly. Right-click My
Computer, go to Properties >> hardware tab >> Device manager button. If
there is a little yellow ! symbol next to sound, you will probably need to
get the driver and install it manually. Unfortunately, to do this, you will
need to know what kind of sound card you have - it might be newer than the
one supplied by Win2000 which would be why it could not install it. You
would then need to go to the manuafacturer's website and get the driver for
Win2000. One easy thing you could try is a Windows Update and see if a
driver is available from Microsoft - this is a longshot though. Or, if your
computer is a common model (Gateway, Compaq, Dell, etc..) you might be able
to get the driver from a website easily.
