Sound stopped working

Anyone have any suggestions about getting sound back? All sounds just
stopped working one day. I've checked every connection, swapped out my
Creative SoundBlaster live! card, run the sound blaster live
diagnostics, checked device manager, reinstalled the drivers. I also
tried some of the reg fixes on Kellys-corner-xp website and nothing
works. I sure could use some advise. thanks, dg

All sound output - or just certain types ? If you use the Sounds
applet in Control Panel, Audio (TAB) what is shown in Sound
Playback device box ?
Have you checked Device Manager with appropriate settings to
see if you device has "Phantom" instances ? Also, have you tried
plugging headphones into the output jack to verify the speakers
aren't the cause ?
Obviously, you've check the "Full" mixer display to make sure
that no channels are muted.

Thanks for the suggestions. Its all sound output, actually. The Sound
Playback device lists the Creative Sound Blaster Live, so that's all
correct. I didn't use headphones the check the speakers, but plugged
them into my other computer, and they work fine there. I have check the
mixer display and all appears well there too. I'm not sure I know what
you mean or how to check for 'phantom" instances in device manager
though. Some help there, and any other suggestions would be welcomed!
