The terms you are looking for a "macron" (long mark) and "breve" (short
mark). Vowels with these marks can be found in the Latin Extended-A
character set of many Unicode fonts, including the Windows core fonts Times
New Roman, Arial, and Courier New. Insert them using Insert | Symbol or any
of the other methods described in
